Followed by Dexter: Resurrection (2025)
Miami, 1991. When his bloodthirsty impulses can no longer be ignored, young Dexter Morgan must learn to channel his inner darkness as he goes from student to avenging serial killer with the guidance of his father, Harry. Christian Slater is older than James Remar was when Dexter (2006) first aired. I am a huge Dexter fan, through and through.
Dexter (seasons 1-8) is the only series I re-watch all the time
Like Harry (according to Dexter), change doesn’t come easy to me. So when Dexter: New Blood came out, at first the change of setting, the coldness, the absence of some beloved cast members, and the lack of humor and Latin music were a huge disappointment to me. However, after watching it as a standalone show (no comparisons to the original), I liked it. Now, with this new show, of course we’re not used to the new faces in the cast.

We all remember that young Dexter, Deb, and Harry looked different, even Laura Moser. However, I think it may be unfair to judge the casting since we’re not in the shoes of the casting directors and producers. I think they had to consider a lot of aspects other than just similar looks. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, James Remar, and the rest of the original cast could magically play the younger versions of their own characters, but time only goes in one direction.
(Bonus: I really like Christian Slater
He’s awesome as always!) So far, after watching the first episode twice, I like it. I think everyone did a pretty decent job filling those big Dexter shoes. I actually can’t deny the fact that I’m now even more excited to watch Dexter: Resurrection after getting a glimpse of Dexter being revived in the ER. .In short, I think this show is great and I’ll probably like it even more as time goes on.
