The film was screened by the nuns of Mother Cabrini’s order, some of whom were in their 90s
Chronology
After witnessing disease and poverty in the slums of New York, Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini embarks on a daring journey to convince the hostile mayor to provide housing and healthcare to hundreds of orphans. At the end of the film, many of them were crying, with some shouting, “THAT’S Cabrini!” Archbishop Corrigan was not the son of poor, working-class Irish immigrants in New York City.
Cabrini: We can serve our weakness or our purpose
Corrigan was born in New Jersey to Irish immigrants who owned a grocery and liquor store in Newark and were wealthy. Not both.
Dare To Be, played by Andrea Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli
Featured on The Glenn Beck Program: Is ‘Cabrini’ the BEST Christian movie since ‘The Passion of the Christ’ (2024). I didn’t know the story of Mother Cabrini until I saw it in the theater last night.
Thoroughly enjoyed the story and the direction, as well as the solid acting from the cast
Angel Studios so far seems to be investing in worthwhile films that appeal to the masses without being too didactic or overly sentimental about faith. The theater was only a little crowded, but the front section was clapping at the end and people stayed until the end, myself included, as I really liked the end credits song.
Great film, well worth the 25 hours spent watching it
I saw the film as part of my AMC A-List membership, but felt compelled to buy at least one ticket for the “pay it forward” commercial.
