The movies starts awkwardly and wobbly, but slowly develops into an intriguing story
Story
It follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a television documentary journalist whose work is built on uncovering the transgressions of long-respected institutions. Gary Oldman was originally rumored to get the role, but he was replaced by Kevin Kline.. I don’t know if Alfonso has enemies on IMDB, that explains the brutal and unfair 1 star ratings, but they are completely out of line.
It gets darker and more complex with each episode
.At first it doesn’t seem like a pure mystery, more like a tragic drama. But you start to get the sense that there is more to the story than the seemingly obvious good and bad characters. So much so that I felt I had to come back here to change my original review and add stars.
Now a gray cat
The situation with cockroaches is disturbing and telling. Small detail, but this might be the first show I’ve ever seen that actually depicts a real cat/human relationship. How the cat is always with you.
Curious, mischievous, funny and gentle
I really appreciate a movie that doesn’t think of the cat as an aloof or even dark presence. The gray cat in this movie has more charm than all the people put together and steals every scene he’s in. I hope he gets an Oscar!
